The Inefficiency Paradox -
Making Sense of the Insurance Industry
A Paper by Vinsurance.com
Abstract
Effectiveness requires redundancy. Makes sense. It’s also a contradiction. It’s
called the “paradox of inefficiency”. We resolve this paradox by creating models
or constructs of what is effective. We create these models to organize making sense
of our individual economic situation, the viability of a business and even to rationalize
entire industrial structures and operations. For instance in this case, the insurance
industry. These ‘contradiction resolution constructs’ we create are remarkably dynamic.
These models enable us to effectively earn a living and/or maintain a standard of
living in times of relative stability and in times of extreme challenge. This paper
presents this argument accordingly in (10) pages. Several bold industry proposals
are made to illustrate main points.
